In 2005, he was also recognized with Foundation Teaching Award by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
Dickerson has received several professional honors during his career, including being named the Preceptor of the Year in 2012 by KU SOM and being honored as the Rainbow Award (Hero in Medicine) recipient in 2006 by the KU SOM. Dickerson also holds a doctor of philosophy in chemistry in 1994 from the University of Missouri and has more than 25 scientific publications to his credit.ĭr. Dickerson served as a clinical instructor for the KU SOM for 14 years, chairman of the Governmental Advocacy Committee for the Kansas Academy of Family Physicians for 5 years, and Chief of Family Medicine for Lawrence Memorial Hospital for 4 years.
